The NJCAA has announced the recipients for the 2022-2023 NJCAA All-Academic Teams. 


NJCAA Academic Team Awards
4 teams were recognized by the NJCAA for earning a 3.0 or above for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Men's Basketball, Women's Golf, Men's Golf, and Women's Tennis have been named 2022-2023 All-Academic Teams.

Oaktons' 2022-2023 Men's Basketball team of Avery Allen (Evanston HS), Alan Connor (New Trier), Georgie Connor (New Trier), Bobby Gray, Alan Kurshumov (MYS), Moses Leblanc (Niles West), Isaiah Moore (Evanston Township), Chuck Owens Jr. (Riverside (WI)), Keimar Parchman-Marable (Riverside (WI)), Kyle Rieger (Maine South) , DJ Shower (DePaul College Prep), Thomas Sullivan (New Trier), Yunus Yilmaz (Notre Dame College Prep), Delon Zollicofer-White (Milwaukee Academy of Science), and Omar Khan (Niles North) contributed to this accomplishment. In total,  they achieved a 3.19 team GPA.

Additonally, the Women's Golf team of Alexandra Gooding (Maine South), Irene Metaxas (Niles West), and Catherine Sung achieved a 3.08 team GPA. and the Men's Golf team of Patrick Crampton (Glenbrook North), Peter Eikosidekas (Elmwood Park), Max McGovern, Tyler Nagelbach (Deerfield), Kevin Plach (Niles West), and Isaac Shechtman acheived a team GPA of 3.33. Lastly, the Women's Tennis team of Grace Antar (Maine East), Gabriela Krieger, Elizabeth Martin (Maine West), and Zarina Sayed (Niles North) achieved a 3.42 team GPA.


NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards
NJCAA All-Academic First Team honorees earned a 4.0 cumulative GPA. The 9 athletes named NJCAA All-Academic First Team are Amy Campbell (Women's Basektball, H.E.M Jr/Sr HS), Gianfranco Grimaldi (Men's Soccer, Maine South), Nikhil Thomas (Men's Tennis, Niles West), Mario Velasco (Men's Tennis, Niles West), Patrick Crampton (Men's Golf, Glenbrook North), Grace Antar (Women's Tennis, Maine West), Gabriela Krieger (Women's Tennis), Alan Connor (Men's Basketball, New Trier), and Georgie Connor (Men's Basketball, New Trier). 

The student-athletes that recieved NJCAA All-Academic Second Team achieved a cumulative GPA between 3.80-3.99. The 3 athletes named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second team are Cody Brooks (Baseball, Westville) and Brady Jensen (Baseball, Prospect).

The athletes named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team earned a cumulative GPA between 3.60-3.79. Those 5 athletes are Elvis Rodriguez (Men's Soccer, Niles West), Alejandro Bucaro (Men's Soccer) Lucas Visser (Men's Soccer, Hilversum, Netherlands), Kevin Plach (Baseball, Niles West), and Omar Khan (Men's Basketball, Niles North).


Oakton is beyond proud of these teams and student-athletes who have achieved these high honor. It takes a lot of time and dedication to be a student and an athlete and it's amazing to see all of their hard work be recognized. Congratulations to all of the award recipients!
