Oakton College, Oakton Athletics and former ISCC and NJCAA Region 4 Hall of Fame Oakton running Coach Pat Savage are launching an endowed scholarship fundraising campaign in support of Oakton cross country student athletes on May 20th, 2024.
All gifts ranging from $25 to $1,000 to the fund will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 by Coach Savage. Gifts to the fund are a great way to support Oakton student athletes while celebrating the incredible legacy of Coach Savage. By investing in this scholarship, you'll be empowering the next generation of Oakton athletes to pursue their dreams and excel as runners and students.
Coach Savage is a living legend as Oakton's men's and women's head cross country and head indoor and outdoor track & field coach from 1971-2003 and marathon coach from 1979-2002, training 39 National Junior College All-Americans and 4 individual National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national champions His teams won numerous individual and team Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and Region 4 titles, as well as 1 team marathon national championship and 1 team marathon national runner up finish.
