Louis Walker

A Henderson, Ky native, Coach Walker has been the assistant men's basketball coach since the 2006-2007 season. During that time, the Owls have won an Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship, Region IV tournament and have made a National Tournament appearance.

Along the way, Louis has coached multiple All-Conference, All-Region performers and All-Americans players, along with Illinois Skyway All-Academic teams.

Since Coach Walker's time at Oakton, athletes have moved on to various levels of collegiate basketball including: Tennessee State University, Cal State Bakersfields, St. Joseph’s(IN), Bryant, UW-Parkside, North Park University, Calumet College Of St. Joseph, Trinity International, UM-Rolla, Bellview and Judson College, to name a few.

Before Oakton, Louis coached at South Suburban Community College for two years and Calumet College of St. Joseph for one year. Before that, he spent three years at Thornton Fractual North High School in Calumet City, IL as assistant varsity, head JV and sophomore coach.

Coach Walker's career started in his hometown of Henderson, KY, coaching 7th and 8th grade basketball at Henderson South Middle School for three years. He has also coached at the professional level in the ABA league.

In the off season, Louis coaches AAU basketball at the 17U level for Full Package Athletics. He has also worked at various basketball camps such as Marquette, Indiana University, Loyola of Chicago, Tennessee State University, Dwayne Wade basketball camp and Brian Adrain basketball camp, to name a few.
