Alan Chalem

Alan Chalem has been the goalkeeper coach for both the Men's and Women's Soccer team since 2010. Coach Chalem says he enjoys coaching at Oakton Community College because, "I enjoy interacting with the student athletes and hopefully have a small impact on their future success on and off the field. I truly believe I receive more than I give!"

Alan played soccer at Evanston Township High School (ETHS) from 1972-1976. His 1976 varsity team was voted into the ETHS sports Hall of Fame in 2020. Alan then attended Ball State University from 1976 - 1980 and started as the goalkeeper all 4 years.

Coach Chalem returned back to Evanston Township High School to begin his coaching career working with the goalkeepers in 1980.

Alan says that going to Nationals with Oakton Men's Soccer team in 2014 has been highlight of his coaching career so far.

Coach Chalem follows two quotes while coaching at Oakton:
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take!" - Wayne Gretzky
'I hate losing more than I like winning!"

Alan presently lives in Wilmette, IL and has three children and one grandson with another on the way!
