James Weissensel

James Weissensel brings six years of high school cross country and track & field coaching experience to the program, with previous tenures at Saint Ignatius College Prep, Marist High School, and most recently Beacon Academy, where he coached current New York University runner Julian Aske, who captured the Class 1A state title in the 800-meter run.

James was an All-State runner at Marquette Academy in Ottawa in both cross country and track & field. He continued his athletic career at NCAA Division II Lewis University. He remains an active competitive runner, racing distances from the mile to the marathon. He has completed both the Boston Marathon and Chicago Marathon twice.

Outside of coaching, Weissensel works full-time as an After Sales Spare Parts Associate at IMA Automation. He resides in Park Ridge with his wife, Gianna.
