Michael Hilty is entering his first year as the Athletic Academic Support and Compliance Specialist at Oakton College.
Michael is originally from Columbus, Ohio where he was a member of the football, basketball, and track and field teams at Bishop Watterson High School. After high school, he played collegiate football at NCAA Division III Capital University in Columbus, where he was a four-year starter on defense and also a member of the school's track and field team.
After graduating from Capital in 2004, Michael spent two years coaching and playing professional football in Europe. He spent one year in Helsinki, Finland and one year in Oslo, Norway. During this time he worked with many student-athletes, helping them develop on and off the field.
Michael continued his coaching and teaching career at his alma mater Bishop Watterson High School from 2004-2009, coaching football and basketball, as well as teaching in the social studies department. Coach Hilty was part of many successful football seasons and many of his student-athletes went on to play collegiately at all levels of NCAA.
In 2009, Michael moved to Chicago, IL to pursue his Masters degree in Education, and coach football at North Park University. During his time at North Park, he worked on the defensive side of the ball and with special teams. He was the teams video coordinator, strength and conditioning coach, and worked with students in academic advising.
After graduating from North Park University, Michael continued his teaching career in the city of Chicago, working at St. Benedict Preparatory, Luther North College Prep, and Walther Christian Academy as a teacher, coach, and dean of students.
Michael lives in Mount Prospect, IL with his wife Melissa and their three young boys.
